Firm Overview
Jamie Heiberger-Jacobsen, president & founder of Heiberger & Associates, P.C., established her firm in 1996 on the philosophy that exceptional real estate litigation and representation requires comprehensive legal knowledge, dedication, accessibility, extensive client contact, a focused, meticulous, success-based approach, and the ability to produce results—swiftly, at fair, competitive prices. That philosophy continues to drive Heiberger & Associates.

Over the years, Heiberger & Associates has expanded into a full-service real estate litigation firm representing residential and commercial clients in all five boroughs, as well as Westchester. Two experienced real estate lawyers, Robert Ehrlich and Lawrence McCourt, joined the firm a decade ago and are now junior partners. Today Heiberger & Associates is made up of 9 full-time lawyers and 20 paralegals and legal assistants. Focusing on two major areas—representation of commercial and residential building owners and management companies in all landlord-tenant legal needs; and representation of sellers and buyers in the sale and purchase of buildings and condominium and cooperative units—the firm is broken down into several highly organized, efficient divisions. Each attorney has broad-based real-estate legal knowledge.

To date, Heiberger & Associates has achieved significant success conducting litigation and providing legal advice for a wide variety of real estate transactions. The firm has also represented owners and developers in the negotiation and eviction processes to remove both commercial and residential tenants and make way for new developments and condominium conversions. Recently Jamie set up a separate closing division at the firm to represent the sponsor in a 450-unit downtown Manhattan condominium sell-out.

Heiberger & Associates also recently represented the Chetrit Group in their high-profile restructuring of the landmark International Toy Center building at 200 Fifth Avenue, in the burgeoning Madison Square Park business district. During this venture, the firm became a critical part of the development surrounding Madison Square Park. The project required the relocation of almost 700,000 square feet of office space. Heiberger & Associates provided legal advice and negotiated agreements to facilitate the relocation process.

Close client contact drives Heiberger & Associates. Jamie leads her large staff of lawyers and paralegals by example, making herself extremely accessible to clients. She personally meets with the majority of her clients on a regular basis to review their portfolios and ensure that all components are on track. Trial lawyers apprise clients of court proceedings on a daily basis. By staying ahead of client needs, Heiberger & Associates continues to expand while maintaining a steadfast commitment to its many longstanding clients.
